Living in such a Historic Area, one never knows where to venture to next. This beautiful Saturday morning in early Fall, I headed out first to the trails of Greensprings Interpretive Trails, a park here in James City County where nature, tranquility and wildlife are abundant. My photos of Greensprings Trail can be seen at http://greenspringsgirl.blogspot.com.

Inlet of the James River on the way to Historic Jamestown Island
My next adventure through the neighborbood lead me to the Jamestown Island Loop Drive which winds through the marsh lands of Historic Jamestown Island which is operated by the National Park Service. On several occassions I heard the Screech of what sounded like an American Bald Eagle which is known to be in the area. Several times I ventured out of my vehicle to take a peek and several times the bird eluded me. |

On a few occassions our family has visited the Jamestown Island Loop. We have taken our dogs to swim at Black's point Beach, walked the loop, Did the driving tour stoping to read all of the Interpretive signs. The one thing that I do not understand are how some people can drive the loop without seeing the nature, beauty, biology that exists there. What should be a vacation or leisurely drive is turned into how fast they can maneuver the path that others are trying to enjoy. Below are the photos captured when I parked the car and looked for what was in abundance while others nearly ran me over while I was doing so.
